Crewe Hall has announced the appointment of Dave Ashton as Executive Head Chef of its four-star hotel.
Dave – who started his career as a kitchen porter – has over 18 years’ experience in the hotel industry.
Before joining Crewe Hall he was head chef at QHotels’ Park Royal Hotel in Stretton. He was also head chef at St. David’s Park Hotel, North Wales, gaining the hotel’s first AA Rosette within a year and retaining it for two years, and at the two AA Rosette Craxton Wood on the Wirral.
During his three years overseeing the catering operation at The Park Royal, Dave’s commitment to improving the quality and consistency of the hotel’s food offering contributed to it achieving and maintaining a prestigious AA Rosette.
Dave is determined to return Crewe Hall to the culinary map with a combination of modern techniques, traditional flavours and a host of balanced and exciting dishes.
He has already overseen the launch of the new Moët & Chandon Champagne Terrace at Crewe Hall, designing a modern menu with a European feel perfect for al fresco dining.
The Champagne Terrace is open in the summer months from Wednesday to Sunday, 12pm – 8pm, weather permitting.
“It was a great opportunity to join the team at Crewe Hall, in a fantastic property which is highly regarded locally and across the QHotels group,” said Dave, who was named QHotels Head Chef of the Year for 2017.
“I have been given the chance to look at the food offering in its entirety and create exciting, modern British menus in The Brasserie and banqueting menus for corporate or private events, using the best quality ingredients.
“I am looking forward to building on the hotel’s existing reputation and delivering fantastic food in this idyllic location in the heart of Cheshire.”
